John D. Armitage
Managing Director
John has been active as a management and executive search consultant for 40
years – having started in management consulting originally with KPMG. He moved
into executive search as a specialty in 1972 and then in 1976, launched Armitage
Associates as a high-end specialty search practice. John was formerly in
accounting and financial positions with Merck Frosst Limited – a multinational
pharma.
He is a Director of Talent Technology Corporation and on the Advisory Board of
ACE (Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship) –an association geared to encouraging
entrepreneurship/business startups at the undergraduate level in universities across Canada.
John has an MBA from the University of Texas (Austin) and a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University in Montreal.
Karen Wood
Director of Research/Client Service Coordinator
Karen - our Director of Research/Client Service Cooordinator has been
in executive search with Armitage Associates for over 25 years. Previously, Karen
was Secretary-Treasurer of a consulting engineering firm in Ottawa. She is a
member of the Canadian Association of Women Executives and Entrepreneurs.
Ron Cuperfain
Associate
Ron Cuperfain has over 20 years experience in both retailing and research and
executive search for various firms. He handles assignments in the financial
services, real estate, health care, and manufacturing sectors.
Ron received his Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) from Dalhousie
University and an MBA (Finance) from the University of Toronto.
Natalie Kusick
Research Associate/Database Coordinator
Natalie coordinates the firm’s candidate database and Internet research as a
member of our research team. She has been with the firm over 8 years.
Natalie has her BA from York University.
Michael Goodman
Associate
Michael has been a senior search practitioner in the Quebec market for the last
25 years. He specializes in financial services, real estate, healthcare, and
retailing sectors. He was formerly in in-house HR roles at the Mercantile Bank
and Royal Trust.
Michael has a law degree from the University of Montreal and a BA from McGill
University.
Chelsea Armitage
Associate
Chelsea Armitage is an Associate in Toronto with a particular focus on
assignments in the financial services/investments practice as well as the
cleantech/alternative energy practice.
She has a B.A. (Economics) from the University of Western Ontario and also a
post-graduate diploma from Humber College.
Cameron Laker
Vancouver Associate
Cameron is a Managing Director of a Vancouver-based affiliate - Mindfield Group.
Mindfield is a Recruiting Process Outsourcing firm which offers mid-market
recruiting to customers looking to outsource volume-based clerical and mid-range
staffing activity to a 3rd party firm. He assists Armitage on assignments
undertaken in Western Canada.
Paige McDonald

Paige has been active in executive search/search research –primarily in the
Western Canadian market for over 7 years. She had experience with both global
and domestic search firms before affiliating with Armitage Associates.
Her practice includes both multinational and domestic clients and she has had
particular focus on the energy, financial services, and technology sectors.
Paige received her Honours Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from the University of Calgary in 1999.
