Senior Executive/Board of Director/Advisory Board Search
Our main emphasis is executive search within the Canadian market but we are also active in
staffing Canadian companies “going global” by working cross-border assignments
jointly with our U.S. and overseas affiliates. As well, we regularly recruit
Board and Advisory Board members for some of these same clients.
Interim Executive Search
The firm has developed specific strengths in recruiting for companies in transition or at
inflection points in their growth cycle. This can involve finding temporary
CEO/COO/VP’s for individual firms as well as for portfolio companies sponsored by venture
capital and private equity firms or institutional/family office investors.
Building Start-Up/Project Teams
Armitage Associates has developed unique methodologies/expertise and track
record around building/rebuilding high performing teams. This expertise allows
us to assemble high performing teams either for start-ups or special projects by
creatively weaving together core executive teams and contract/virtualized
specialty resources.
Management Assessments/HR Advisory
We are frequently called on to do individual or team assessments (including arranging psychological testing) either as part of our executive search mandates - or in advance of major investment or potential acquisitions by our clients.
For early stage businesses, we can serve as the external HR advisor and then
recruit a contract HR executive to get that role formalized within the
organization. This can include involvement in helping design and implement internal
recruiting practices/processes which leverage current Internet-based search tools.
Venture Advisory
Armitage Associates has been active for many years in helping entrepreneurs
and venture investors with the challenges of growing their companies.
Building management teams has been our core value add but we are also advisors
to CEO’s and Boards on the broader aspects of company building- from strategic,
to choice of funding partners, to identifying/evaluating non-organic routes to accelerating growth.
For example, companies are increasingly aligning themselves with strategic or joint
venture partners to more effectively expand into international markets.
